The case
A liquid stock is traded to a VWAP target. The session runs five times with variable conditions.
Objective
Work the order to the VWAP target in each of five runs, in conditions that change from one run to the next.
What it shows
- A strategy tested more than once, not a single draw.
- A VWAP plan that holds in some conditions and not in others.
- Variation: why one result proves little.
Watch out for
- A plan that worked in run one and is repeated as if conditions were the same.
- Five short runs, each too brief to recover from a slow start.
- Comparing results across students when the conditions differed.
Who takes part
- Trader — every student. Trades LIQD, following a VWAP strategy.
Class size
Ten to forty students in one role. Pairs with AT1, which is one run with a fixed order.
